Reviews about Ye Olde Towne Pub
- 3 / 5By Georges BoudreauI was in the pub in December for breakfast and the food was good with generous portions. But when we got home we had to change our clothes and wash our hair. They must be cooking and deep frying without using a kitchen exhaust fan.June 05, 2017
- 5 / 5By Colin StirlingGood food in an old-english style pub atmosphere. Great selection of beer for all tasts. I rate almost every typical restaurant in the maritimes on their ability to make fish and chips because if its on the menu you should be able to do it right and the fish should be fresh - and they do a great job of it here! This is a great spot for a meal and a pint on the deck.May 30, 2017
- 4 / 5By Wyllow ElizabethNice pub style food, fun atmosphere and in the summer great outdoor seating facing the market on Saturday mornings. First Fridays of the month in summer enjoyed outdoor entertainment from the market square.March 01, 2017
- 1 / 5By Christopher PowersI understand with a pub it's more about drinks than food, but I've been to plenty of pubs where the food was good.
This was not one of those pubs.
First of all its way over priced, even for seafood standards. Secondly my clams smelled horrendous. I've had clams many times and never encountered a smell that immediately made my nose recoil.
And thirdly, the steak. I asked for well done, it was not. But worst of all was how unimpressive it was. My mother gets more flavour out of burning a steak into a lump of charred coal than this pub accomplished with what they claim is "seasoning".
But those clams. I understand you put clams on top of the fries to make it look like more, but the fries was literally 2/3's of the meal. I paid the same for clams in Port Mouton and got more clams than i could eat, and they were delicious.
Despite the friendly server, you'd feel more satisfied just walking up to the server, handing him $5 for working there, and just go eat somewhere else.
DON'T EAT HERE!October 27, 2016 - 3 / 5By Andrew KerperI ordered the smoked meat sandwich last week, which was advertised as "Montreal style" on the menu. Having grown up in Montreal, I was disappointed with the few, very thick slices of meat that were impossible to bite through, the dark bread, and the dijon mustard. Back home, it was always served thinly sliced or shaved on light rye with yellow mustard, and piled high so you can't get your mouth around it.
My friend ordered something else and said it was great, as were the scallops we shared as an appetizer. I was there previously and had good food and service, so just don't get the smoked meat.August 16, 2016
